Tokunoshima
Tokunoshima is an island about half way between Kyushu and Okinawa. It's also warmer heat with daytime temperatures in the low 20s.

Lunch in Hiroshima
Oysters are a local delicacy in Hiroshima. They have a different flavour to Australian oysters (or American oysters). The place where I had lunch does them steamed in the shell. Also had scallop nigiri sushi.
Station Cats
Hirado station has a pair of cats. This isn't that unusual as a station in Wakayama actually has a cat for a station master.
